RACHEL RICHARDS

RR_edited.jpg

Rachel Richards is a Florida-based artist and real estate professional whose work emerges from a highly intuitive, self-taught practice. She began painting during the COVID-19 pandemic, initially experimenting with leftover art supplies from her children, and quickly developed a personal approach rooted in curiosity and creative exploration. Mrs. Richards had minimal formal training, her process is largely unstructured, guided more by instinct than by traditional rules of painting. An early appreciation for art was influenced by her father, whose own creative interests left a lasting impression.

This presentation at The Peacock House Art Foundation marks Rachel’s first gallery exhibition. Working primarily in acrylics, her pieces often engage with ecological and political themes, incorporating glow-in-the-dark elements that transform under shifting light conditions. This interplay introduces a duality within the work, encouraging viewers to consider both visible and obscured narratives.

Alongside her artistic practice, Rachel maintains a successful career as a realtor, where her eye for composition and presentation carries into her visual work. She is also a mother of two, and her evolving practice reflects a balance between family life, environmental awareness, and a willingness to experiment without constraint.
