Discover the joy of working with clay in this beginner-friendly Basics of Pottery workshop. Designed for those new to pottery, this class introduces fundamental hand-building techniques while encouraging creativity and exploration. Participants will learn the basics of clay preparation, shaping, and simple construction methods such as pinch pots, coils, and slab building. You’ll also explore surface textures and decorative details to personalize your pieces. No prior experience is needed—this workshop is all about learning, experimenting, and having fun with clay. All materials are provided, and finished pieces will be fired and ready for pickup at a later date. Release of Liability By registering for or participating in any class, tour, event, or activity, you acknowledge and accept that participation may involve certain inherent risks. You voluntarily assume all risks of injury or damage and agree to release and hold harmless The Peacock House Art Foundation, Inc., its staff, and volunteers from any liability for accidental injury, harm, or loss arising from participation. Age & Supervision Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian unless otherwise specified. The Foundation reserves the right to request proof of age at any time. Code of Conduct All participants are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and safe manner at all times. The Foundation reserves the right to remove, without refund, and ban from the property any individual who engages in disruptive, unsafe, unlawful, or disrespectful behavior. Force Majeure / Weather Policy In the event of severe weather, emergencies, facility closures, or circumstances beyond the Foundation’s control, scheduled classes, tours, or services may be rescheduled or substituted. The Foundation assumes no liability and offers no refunds under such circumstances. Indemnification Participants agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless The Peacock House Art Foundation, Inc., its directors, staff, and volunteers from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from their own acts, omissions, or negligence while on Foundation property or during participation in Foundation
