Artist-in-Residence Application Form

The Peacock House Art Foundation Inc’s Artist-in-Residence Program supports artists who want to share their creative vision and enrich our community. If you would like to be considered for our program please fill out the application below and submit it to tphaf.Inc@gmail.com along with all required materials. Materials Checklist:  

  • Completed & signed application form

  • Copy of government issued identification (Ex: ID, Drivers License, Visa, or Passport)

  • Artist Resume/CV

  • Minimum three (3) references, personal or professional (include name, address, email, and phone number)  

  • Minimum five (5) images/examples of artwork (photo submissions can be links or attached as JPG, PNG, or PDF files).

  • Artist Statement (maximum one page)  

  • Proposal for what you plan to accomplish during your residency (1-3 paragraphs) 

Residency Period:

The standard residency period is three (3) months. Any variation of this term will be determined during the interview process and recorded in written/signed agreement upon application acceptance.

Program Requirements: 

All artists participating in the program must provide the following services/classes to TPHAF during residency.

  1. One (1) workshop per month, open to the public 

  2. Two (2) workshops for kids (ages 8 - 16 approximatly), during the three-month residency

  3. Artist to provide a minimum of one (1) piece of art for the Alumni Gallery.

  4. Five (5) hours per week of volunteer service to TPHAF grounds 

Residency Program:

The cost for a three (3) month residency (in the Florida program) is $600 per month. A Security Deposit of $600.00 is required prior to possession. The Residency Program includes the following: 

  1. One (1) private bed-room, a shared bathroom, and a shared kitchen (Note: sundries/food are not included, please bring your own personal hygiene products). 

  2. A designated work area for the Artist to create art and work (Note: artists are responsible for their own supplies and materials)

  3. Internet

  4. A bicycle will be provided for local transportation (Note: artist is responsible for any repairs and/or replacement if lost or stolen).  

  5. One (1) lunch voucher, per week, at a local supporting restaurant 

  6. One (1) public exhibition of the artist's work at our gallery.

Terms & Conditions: 

  1. Code of Conduct: Artist/applicant will follow the Code of Conduct (found below). TPHAF holds the right to add/alter to the Code of Conduct at any time, the applicant/artist is expected to use their best judgment in all instances to respect people and property, and maintain a safe environment. 

  2. Requirements: Program requirements, as listed above, must be provided by the applicant/artist. Failure to provide these requirements, without proper notice and/or reasonable cause, will be considered a breach of this agreement. The applicant/artist may be fined for any financial losses incurred by TPHAF due to failure to provide requirements. Fines may be deducted from the applicant/artists Security Deposit for recuperation of losses. 

  3. Materials: Artists are 100% responsible for their own supplies and materials for their art and classes. Any materials/goods/furniture left behind at the end of the term will become possessions of TPHAF, and TPHAF may dispose of these materials/items as needed. TPHAF is not responsible for shipping, selling, or maintaining any supplies left behind.

  4. Marketing: Participants may promote their exhibits/classes for advertising, however, any use of the logo/contact information of The Peacock House Art Foundation, Inc must be approved in writing beforehand by a TPHAF official.

  5. Sales: The sale of any artwork at TPHAF and/or at our partnered Galleries/Venues will incur a 10% commission, payable to The Peacock House Art Foundation, Inc. (not including tax). This is for the administrative costs of sales. Additionally, TPHAF is not responsible for the marketing or selling of your work, TPHAF does NOT guarantee sales.

  6. Insurance: Artists must maintain their own liability insurance for the duration of their stay. TPHAF is not responsible for any injury which occurs through the applicant/artist's negligence or misconduct. Additionally, the artist shall insure their own work, TPHAF is not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged property/work, and shall not be held responsible for the safekeeping of work.

  7. Set Up: The Peacock House Art Foundation Inc is not responsible for any event/class setup/breakdown.

  8. Refunds: No refunds for any services provided by TPHAF will be granted. Should any dissatisfaction of services provided arise, TPHAF and the applicant/artist shall make all reasonable attempts to resolve the issue. If a resolution cannot be made, the applicant/artist hereby agrees to mediation before any legal action is pursued.  

  9. Termination: Termination of this agreement from either party will be accepted with a written 15-day notice of termination. 

  10. Governing Laws: All laws and regulations by the United States of America, the State of Florida, and local county & city laws must be adhered to at all times. TPHAF is not responsible for any violations or sanctions that result from the applicant/artist’s breaking of any laws. Please familiarize yourself with governing laws prior to arrival.  

  11. Visas/Documentation: TPHAF is not responsible for any required Visas or documentation for entry/stay in the USA. Please review all United States requirements prior to filing your application and arrival.

Code of Conduct:

  1. The Peacock House Art Foundation Inc, and all affliated organizations have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy on any harassment or abuse. The applicant/artist will show decorum and respect to all fellow artists, staff, patrons, and visitors, at all times.

  2. The artist will refrain from any public intoxication, drug use, threats/harassment, and use of weapons. Use of tobacco inside any of TPHAFs buildings is not permitted. 

  3. The applicant/artist will dress in a business-casual fashion; no excessive skin exposure or revealing outerwear will be accepted anywhere on the grounds (including the dormitory). 

  4. The applicant/artist will respect, clean, and care for their space throughout the term. Please take extra care to clean shared spaces and leave your room in the same state in which it was provided. 

  5. Respect others personal belongings, do not touch or use goods that do not belong to you without permission. 

  6. Non-warranted/unwanted physical contact or lewd/lecviouse behavior will NOT be accepted and may lead to immediate termination of this agreement. 

  7. TPHAF and all affiliates do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, creed, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, or gender identity), national origin, disability, age, or genetic information (including family medical history). Discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.

  8. Anyone may report violations to tphaf.Inc@gmail.com without fear of retaliation; for anonymous reporting please use the Contact Us form on our website using “anonymous” as the name and email.
